A UK regulator needed to set up a new regulator (first type in the world) and as Organisational Design Lead, I took over the responsibility for the new company design through to implementation. I worked with the Senior Executive to design the high-level operating model options and the board/legal entity structure.

I requested the regulatory policy experts to create a pre-consultation strategic hypothesis and the 3-year regulatory interventions forecast to enable me to work with the Executive team to design a target operating model to support the strategy. I then led the detailed design, including bespoke workforce planning, and set up a dedicated recruitment team with daily metrics to deliver the required staff for launch. The Regulator was successfully launched on time and to plan.
